AndroidHeadlines :Last week, we brought news to you about a White House petition to keep this from happening. But as of this past Saturday, it is now illegal to unlock your phone. Now this probably seems pretty harsh, but anyone who unlocks their handset in the US without written consent from their carrier, could face civil or even criminal action. In the worst case scenario, you could be hit with a $2,500 fine if you unlock your device for use on another carrier.
This is fucking gay. This is MY damned phone and I will whatever the fuck I want with it. I can understand them making it illegal to share software and music, because technically you aren’t buying music so much as you are buying a license to listen to it. But when you buy a phone or a computer, you are BUYING the hardware. You can do whatever the fuck you want with it. But of course the fed has to bend over and take up the pooper by telecom companies, making it illegal to unlock your phone, what kind of shit is that? I’ll do whatever the fuck I want with my phone, thank you very much. It’s all about fucking money now. Somehow some politicians somewhere accepted some campaign contributions from some telecom conglomerate and this is how they pay back the cash. By ripping off the American people.
