Yahoo: More and more people are taking antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications, and among that number is a growing legion of women who say these medications help them become better mothers.
Bitch, it doesn’t make you a better mother, it just makes you oblivious to the fact that you’re a bad mother. Zanies are what you take when you want the world to just whiz on by so you never have to bother living in it. It’s what you take when your reality is so drab that you’d rather just fast-forward.
See, this is a huge problem with America. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t believe in many of the “conditions” like ADD. I believe that people may not be able to pay attention well. I believe that anxiety can be cured in natural ways, if at least by pot. We’re so dependent on drugs to fix every little emotion that we don’t want. Eventually we’re going to be unable to have any real thoughts or feelings. We’ll never be able to relax without a Xanax, we’ll never be able to wake up without a Red Bull. It’s totally effed. Not to mention the fact that as soon as healthcare becomes “free”, moms are going to be taking their kids to the doctor every time their butts itch. Every kid in America will be diagnosed with ADD so that the companies making Adderall and Ritalin stay in the money, with doctors on the take, of course.
I don’t suppose women would understand if I said that blowing off steam by going to the driving range every Sunday morning alone makes me a better father. We all have our ways of staying sane.
