CNN: A man, who tried to rob a group of people waiting in line to buy the new $180 LeBron James sneakers, was shot and killed when one of the customers pulled out a gun, Atlanta police said.
The incident took place before dawn Saturday outside a shoe store in Atlanta’s Little Five Points area.
The group was waiting for the store to open for the day so they could buy the LeBron X Denim on its first day of release. Police said the man approached the group with a gun in hand and tried to rob them. One of the men in the group took out his own handgun and fired, said Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos.
OK, two things. The first is the congrats and thanks to the civilian good Samaritan concealed carrying. Police would not have gotten to the scene in time and that thief would have robbed those people. Instead of having a thief with a thousand dollars, we’ve got a dead thief with zero dollars. That’s a win in my book. Eliminate the scum from the gene pool.
The second thing is that obviously this thief wasn’t the only person robbing the people in line for these sneakers. LeBron James is as big a thief as anybody here. $180 for a pair of sneakers? They were probably stitched together by little slave kids in China for less than $10, parts and labor. No doubt that Nike and LeBron are making a 500% profit off these shoes. And kids will think that wearing the shoes will make them better basketball players somehow. We have got to end this cycle of paying too much money for cheap Chinese shit. And girls, don’t get all humble about this. Our sneakers are expensive, but your shoes and handbags are the biggest ripoff of all time, and you’re dumb enough to buy them. Spending any more than $100 on a handbag is completely unwarranted. All you are paying for is the label. Plain and simple.
I wonder how many kids will go without eating this week because their parents decided to spend their EBT cash on LeBrons instead of on food.
